POTENZINI, Fred “Fuzzy,” 72, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.
He was born July 13, 1935, in Mingo Junction, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Felo) Potenzini.
Fuzzy retired from the Blast Furnace Department at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo plant. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Slovak Club, the Shutzen Club and the Senior Citizens Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Wells Radvansky Potenzini in 2003; two brothers, Chester and Joseph Potenzini; three sisters, Dorothy A. Potenzini, Eleanor M. Gump and Marcella Potenzini; and a step-son, James Radvansky.
He is survived by his companion, Yvonne McGraw of Mingo; four brothers, Robert F. Potenzini of Steubenville, Thomas (Dolores) Potenzini of Mingo, Edward Potenzini of Mingo and Frank (Josette) Potenzini of Steubenville; two sisters, Mary Louise (Mike) Boka and Norma (Wayne) Pickford, both of Mingo; a step-son, John Radvansky, Jr. of Mingo; a step-daughter, Cathy Risdon of Mingo; and two step-grandsons.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Avenue, Mingo Junction.
Fuzzy will lay in state on Friday at the St. Agnes Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Mingo.
There will be a Vigil service on Thursday at 8:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
