Police conduct two drug raids

STEUBENVILLE — Two people were arrested and two others were being sought after drug raids in the city on Tuesday.

City Police and members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department special response team raided an apartment at 153 N. Fifth St. around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Arrested were JaQuin R. Boston, 18, and Talia Schoonover, 18, both of Apartment 3, 153 N. Fifth St. Boston was charged with three counts of drug trafficking. Schoonover was charged with permitting drug abuse.

City Police Chief William McCafferty said crack cocaine and cash were confiscated from the apartment.

“We received complaints from residents and businesses for some time (concerning the apartment). We thank them for their patience. Sometimes, operations of these kind take some time,” the chief said.

Police and the sheriff’s department special response team also raided a home at Rear 625 Grandview Ave.

McCafferty said police were looking for Quincy Dudley, 37, of Apartment 20, 153 N. Fifth St. He is wanted on charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin and two counts of trafficking in crack cocaine.

The police chief said a juvenile also is wanted on drug-related charges.
