A taste of tradition ready for distribution

Weir High School’s Publications Department has come up with something

brand new to raise money.

After brainstorming, the Publications Department, which is led by

Alyssa Mick, has created a cookbook, The Taste of Tradition. Those

interested can get their hands on this cookbook for only $8, and a

second cookbook is half off.

Cookbook production started in February. Students spoke to teachers

and staff, asking them to contribute their favorite recipes. After

gathering more than 100 recipes, the class organized them according

to appetizers, beverages, soups, salads, vegetables, side dishes,

main dishes, and desserts. In addition to recipes, there are also

hints on how to prepare each food.

The cookbook also includes vintage, alumni photos on each page. Weir

High junior and member of the Publications Department, Paige

Dalrymple stated, “People will love this cookbook because it is

filled with various recipes, and the old pictures make it interesting.”

Those interested in purchasing the cookbook also can order it and

have it mailed to you for a shipping charge of $2 per book. Visit

Sample cookbooks and order forms are located at the Mary H. Weir

Mick stated, “I am pleased with how the cookbook turned out in the
