The Downtown Weirton Business and Civic Association was formed by business owners from the downtown area. Our goal is to provide leadership, advocacy and opportunity for businesses and civic groups in the downtown area. We are members of the National Main Street Center and the International Downtown Association.
Our concerns and interests include Main Street up to County Road as well as the Cove Road and Freedom Way areas.
The first "wayfinding" sign in downtown Weirton was installed at the intersection of Marland Heights Road and Main Street. The sign is in the planter on the property located at United Bank. The sign has the Weirton city logo on it along with a directional for Marland Heights and Williams Country Club. After installation, the sign will be donated to the City of Weirton.
The Downtown Weirton Business & Civic Association thanks Bill D'Alesio and United Bank for their cooperation in making this project a reality as well as Renaissance Weirton and the Limited Video Lottery Group (Freedom Way Lounge, Stars and Stripes, Mugsy’s, Wise Guy’s and Cruiser’s) for their financial contributions which allowed for the purchase of the sign. The association would like to thank the Mayor and City Council for their cooperation with this project.
The Downtown Weirton Business & Civic Association is committed to making a difference in downtown Weirton. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at noon in the Rose Room at the Weirton Millsop Community Center.
If you have questions about the association, or wish to comment on the sign, e-mail us at email@example.com.
