I give the police department their due credit. They're the ones out there on the street in the middle of it and arresting these idiots. Where I take issue is the sentencing of these criminals. This one was sent away for a long time as he should have been and hopefully for his role in the Mingo home invasion he winds up spending the rest of his life in prison. A toddler was pistol-whipped during that crime none of those involved need to ever have their freedom again. It seems like too often deals are made and probation is given. That may be necessary in order to get a bigger fish, I don't know, but it seems like the sentences aren't lengthy enough. With all the gun violence if a gun is used or an illegal gun is found on a known criminal it should be an automatic 10-15 year prison sentence no matter the circumstances.

Let's just hope that this sends a message to the other drug dealing gang bangers that come here from Chicago, thinking that this city is an easy selling ground for them. I'm a police officer, but not in the city of Steubenville (although I reside here) and I'm going to tell everybody reading this that it's more difficult than you think to just pluck these criminals off of our streets, so please give SPD a little more credit for doing their best at trying.
