It's a shame when politicians resort to lies to bring down their opponents. More often tan not, it is the liberals.

Dawn Zimmer’s story unravels. Hoboken received aid “on par” with other cities

hotair(dot)com/archives/2014/01/26/dawn-zimmers-story-unravels-hoboken-received-aid-on-par-with-other-cities/

The city whose Democratic mayor said GOP Gov. Chris Christie’s administration tied Superstorm Sandy aid to her support for a real estate project has, so far, received a level of aid from state-run programs that is similar to what other towns got, a review of grant data shows. Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer is no longer discussing her allegations that New Jersey’s second-largest city has been shortchanged on Sandy funds, that its aid is being held “hostage” as political leverage or that she feared further retribution in the next round of funding.

Ok Bknees what would you say to obama about starting this mess all over again. In the second half of Clinton's last term in office the Republican Congress and Senate passed the Welfare Reform Act. Clinton signed it into law. The main provision was after a period of time ( two years I think ) The person collecting welfare had to go find work. If not they lost their welfare. The country was well on it's way to solving the problem of welfare generations. Then the great socialist obama was elected and one of his first illegal changes to a law was he redefined WORK. Now we are right back to the entitlement society. So again do tell us Bknees what you think about obama doing this and should it be turned around?

bKnees, The problem is that these bums don't want to get a job. Can you blame them? I'm not that old I have a good job, I'm in good health, I own a home. I also have to worry about performing at my job, paying my bills, keeping my home in order, paying off my debt, and making sure my car is running so I can do those things. I lose sleep over it sometimes. If someone said "you can just take the rest of your life off, and never have to work or worry, you'll always have a roof over your head, and food on your plate, I'd be an idiot to not do it.

@Richard67 What you say is true for some. And stopping the vicious cycle of dependency is truly a task that has eluded us. It used to be an embarrassment to receive government cheese, now...it's a way of life. No self-respect. It's sad.

bKnees; If a person is receiving public assistance they should be made to work for it. If they are able bodied there is no way they should sit at home. I don’t care if it is picking papers up along the road or helping at a senior center or Salvation Army. Once a person becomes too comfortable in the system then you have a problem. Many believe this is their right and they have this coming to them. What do you think children are taught born into government support? They may learn how the system works and how to become part of it. How many learn to be responsible for themselves. In our great country, they should learn one should work hard in school and once in the work force become a productive citizen. Many of their parents have their smart phones, cigarettes and alcohol. Tax payer should not be paying for this. I believe children learn very little in this environment and sadly without the proper guidance, become part of the system.

Mr. Richard67, there is one question I would like to address. And I hope I can clarify my stance on this issue. "why you see it as fair that hard working, honest people should be forced to pay for people that are neither honest nor hard working?" I do NOT see it as fair. It is not fair that able-bodied adults are allowed to misuse the system. But, as you know, not every person receiving assistance is dishonest or lazy. There are actually people who need our temporary help and with it, are able to get back on their feet. THAT is what it’s for and it is entirely appropriate that we see to it. I don’t like that there are people abusing the system and exploiting loopholes. We as a people need to find a way to “encourage” (because I have a “pablum puking bleeding heart”) them to help themselves. No matter what, it is also not fair to punish the innocents for their parents’ transgressions. I do not have the answer; I just feel that reducing funding on food for children is NOT

bKnees, why is there a lack of self-respect? I have an idea, because people that have been "spoiled" (given everything without having to do anything for it) are LAZY. Such people have never felt what it is like to work for something. You mention that their innocent children could be hurt. To that I ask you, who created those children? Where is the father (most welfare slobs are single mothers of multiple children often to multiple fathers), why is the father shunned by the mother, why does the father not stick around? bKnees, why not cut benefits? What right do those people have to my paycheck when I strive to provide for my own family, especially when I don't ask for or receive assistance?

@Hagrid I agree completely. No self respecting able-bodied adult should be making their living off the system. That needs work. Problem is...there is a lack of respect for themselves; let alone anyone else. We as a society have not developed a way to "encourage" the deadbeat adults to pull their weight, without hurting their innocent children. I don't think cutting food stamps or WIC is the solution.

We were told there were 36-46 million folks DESPERATE for health care.

If so, why have barely 2 million signed up for Obamacare, and they can't even tell us how many of those actually PAID?

Liberals!

Y'all remember Wendy McAbortionBarbie, don't you? She's the Texas state senator who did that whole filibuster with a backbrace and Escada thing. And that makes you a Democrat superstar these days. That, and a Vogue spread with some chatter about your bottle-blond hair, Lululemon yoga pants and your penchant for red wine, of course. Turns out, the blond on her head isn't the only thing that's fake. When she was on her meteoric rise to abortion stardom, she lied about being a single mom. She lied, "under oath, about key events in her life, including her first divorce. Davis may even have lied under oath, testifying in a federal lawsuit over redistricting that 'I got divorced by the time I was 19 years old, when in fact she was divorced at age 21." And that's not all! (emphasis mine) Other missing details have included: her second husband paid her way through law school and she divorced him the day after the last payment was made cont.

I believe it is funny that somehow race always seems to be brought into the argument by the liberals. Don't like Obamacare? You are a racist. Don't like what Oprah said, once more, Racist. If you state the facts like blacks making up 12% of the population yet accounting for 50% of the crime, that is racist too. To that I say why is there a "black history month" and no "white history month?" In reality, most liberals don't know what true racism is. To them, it is just another insult to hurl at their opposition because they have nothing intelligent to say.

First thing I have to stop writing comments with my Ipad with the stupid auto correct It messes everything up. I wish HS had a way to edit your comments after you post them.

Rsimpson you are so right. Yhe lone white person in the news for the knock out game is charged with a hate crime while hundreds of black on white that leave no doubt that they had racist intent go with a slap on the wrist.

Then we have Bknees with her rose colored glasses and her pablum puking bleeding heart. She is the epitome of liberalism. What does Micheal Savage call them? Red diaper doper babies. It is funny how conservatives are selfish and unprincipled because we have different opinions than liberals. Don't they call these people hypocrites?

@Moteman I completely agree! The fact is Obamacare was a disaster and Obama is now a known liar. It pains me to see any white person defending Oprah's attack on elderly whites. She said in order to make progress with racism elderly white from the south need to die. I'd like to know how that plan deals with the growing number of black people who hold racist attitudes against white people. Label me a racist if you must but the truth is whites are a victim of racism just as often as blacks are, the only difference is whites can not get justice. Prosecutors choose not to charge perps with the hate crime specification in most cases. The knockout game is a perfect example. MOst cases have black kids attacking innocent whites yet when the lone white kid does it and targets a black man he's charged with a hate crime. The man who wrote this letter is weak minded and allowing the Obama media machine to dictate his opinion.
