. . . if the dog had a bag of donuts tied around his neck , the officer would have taken him home !!

I agree with both of you. The officer could have contacted the humane society and had the dog picked up. We probably should be thankful that the police bothered to show up at all.

To Nemo01, I am glad you caught that too. I started reading the story and thought to myself, wow what a great guy to take home a stray, until I got further down the page. The cop was irresponsible too, he of all people should have made sure the dog was taken care of. Well I guess he wanted praised for feeding an abandoned dog in a cemetery in 0 below weather. Hope he slept good in his warm bed in his warm home.

Let me get this right you gave it some food and you and the officer both left it there. how nice of both of you, instead of preaching from the bible why did you not take it to the pound yourself or at least take it home for the night where it would be warm and safe until the next day form what I see here you and the officer are no better than the person who left it in the first place.... Actions speak louder than words from the bible.
