You prople are so wrong. Health and safety is the city's role.

The costs will be given to the family, insurance company, and if necessary a lien on the property. Read the ORC.

I feel for the Creegan's , It is not the responsibility of the city to clean and pay for the clean-up. Asbestos abatement is very costly to get rid of.

The first problem here is that declaring this as an emergency is the building inspectors job. Knocking this wall down will have no asbestos issues the next phase of clean up will but that should be a contemplated bid process. Lastly why is this city taking on this process when the Creegan family ahs a bid from someone and would bear the cost istead of the community. This is another instance where council is going to spend our money frivolously while asking us to pay more money for services.
