GOP leadership questioned

November 24, 2013

To the editor: After reading the Nov. 17 letters to the editor and, in particular, the one from Richard Hord (“GOP should stand for something,”) I was tempted to write, “Yeah, what he said....

The Heritage Foundation-----A CONSERVATIVE THINK TANK. Now there is the truest definition of an OXYMORON I have ever seen.I agree that sometimes the liberals of this country are a little goofy in their way of "thinking" but they are thinking and creating sometimes to the point of irritating other liberals. But therein lies the difference between the liberals and the conservatives that's the ability to think, the ability to create, and the ability to forge ahead into the 21st century. Conservative Think Tanks, indeed an OXYMORON.

I get from reading Bknees posts that he/she has this pie in the sky outlook on obunglercare and the far left. Peace and love brother. but why does this so called positive cooperation only mean the GOP? I haven't seen much cooperation form liberals. It is Dingy harry's, piglosie's , or obungler's way or the highway they haven't compromised yet.

Obama is moving the Vatican embassy out of the Vatican, claiming "security concerns".

Why didn't he move, defend, or close the Benghazi embassy due to security concerns in that Muslum country?

I guess that will show Roman Catholics for opposing the killing of unborn children under Obamacare.

Positive cooperation will not pay the bills of those with pre-existing conditions and the elderly who have been the very few to sign up for Obamacare.

I've seen ads on TV trying to convince the young and healthy to join. It ain't happening. Most young are either unemployed, or still living in mom and dad's home, or working a low paying job, or trying to pay off their student loans, or simply think they are invincable and not interested in forking out money for health care.

Tell us how such a system will effectively provide for our health care, when there is no money to pay for it.

I await your explanation.

Agreed, Mr. Atkinson. If all their negative energy had been put toward positive cooperation, just think where we could be right now. Thought provoking letter. Regards! bK

Week after week I have read letters written by people who have to sign their name and then see people chew them up with ugly words. This letter is one of the true statements and I as one who believes everyone deserves health case, applaud you for a your letter. Congrats!
