Hopefully, when McVey is indicted, it will eventually lead Franciscan University to clean up its education department, which is practically a branch of this corrupt public school system.

With her growing rap sheet, she is certain to be a major player in Steubenville politics. I think City Manager is in her future.

Great question rsimpson! In fact the Ohio law says: RC 3319.391 currently requires a criminal records check for any person, other than a pupil transportation operator, who is: (1) hired to work in a school district, educational service center or chartered nonpublic school and (2) in any position that does not require a “license” issued by the State Board of Education Not only was the School board unethical, risking student safety, violation of sole contract awards (to a school employee family member)as a public entity but they also did not follow the law and get a background check!

@Rsimpsom4395 You have made a valid point about hiring a person to work for a school district who has been arrested for carrying a concealed weapon in light of the many school shootings over the years. Not to say that she would have used it, but would if someone else had the opportunity to get ahold of it and ugly consequences became of it. However, it is my opinion that Reno had full knowledge of the situation involving his football players and that he too must be held accountable, along with many others. I will not be surprised if there are other school officials who will be charged with concealing information. To me it's the Penn State saga, just under different circumstances.

I have a legitimate question: Why would the school hire someone who had previously been arrested for OVI and carrying a concealed weapon, a loaded .22 caliber handgun? This is a school system, their standards need to be higher. There are plenty of people around here seeking employment who haven't had run-ins with the law. The more that comes out of this grand jury the more I wonder just what is going on with-in that school district. I don't foresee Reno being drug off the field in handcuffs although I do think he was overly smug, arrogant, and condescending in the video-taped interview with police shown by 20/20. I do believe that he was lied to however as an educator with an accusation this serious you can't just take the word of teens at face value.

Your school board and administration smells bad. It's obvious that your community issues run deeper then just the rape of Jane Doe coverup. I wonder what else the grand jury is going to find out that is / has gone on in Steubenville. I still look forward to more coverup indictments in the Jane Doe rape case and Coach Sac being in handcuffs.

Someone might want to question how the school board was awarding contracts to family members that were not bid? Another contract was approved by the school board for Hannah in the amount of $908. Oct 2012. You know that saying "when you see one cockroach there is many more in the woodwork" Someone might want to do an audit of where funding was allocated to by the school board!
