Looking to take control

September 29, 2013

To the editor: The Republican clown car is in need of repair. The “Cruz” control is not operational, the wheels are wobbling, the tires are bald and it’s running on empty....

This comment is not meant to answer Mr. Atkinson. It is to say we should not respond to his vitriolic diatribes that are not meant for any other reason other than to cause trouble and troll the discussion. Last comment ever to Mr. Atkinson's hateful scribble. He must be a very lonely person.

Wow! Will the political bias stop. Does it not bother any of you that we have a disfunctional congress (dem/rep/tea/ind). All the people suffer from this and on Tuesday, we all will see how. No government services except (military/air traffic). Air traffic should be included so that EVERYONE feels the effect of the politics. How many hear are wondering if their check will be there on the first of the month? Our spending has been at it lowest since Eisenhower. With so many wills of the people, there has to be compromise, but not at the expense of shutting down the government. ACA can be debated later. WE SHOULD BE OUTRAGED THAT CONGRESS MAKES $174,000 FOR 139 DAYS OF WORK.

Although I agree with your belief that the Republican Party needs to regain control of their fringe, I don't support your delivery. Extremism begets extremism. American should be fed up with the far left as much as the far right.

valleyman, I watched meet the press today as you probably listened to the EIB network for your next opinion to be force fed to you. I heard Ted Cruz refer to himself and others like him as "The Ruling Class". I guess that bigoted aristocratic attitude is right up your alley based on the tasteless insult you so often throw around trying to be funny or cute. Most people are laughing for sure but, it’s at you. Your meager minded words are comical.

Mr. Atkinson, since when are members of congress that follow the will of those that elected them "loons?" See, the problem is that liberals are content with being slaves to their elected masters. The rino republicans are much the same.

Has anyone else heard new information regarding Obama and the muslim brotherhood? It appears as though Obama may be an actual member of the muslim brotherhood. Think about it, he supported Mohammed Morosi. He also showed support for rebel uprisings inspired by the muslim brotherhood. He also has turned his back on Benghazi. Kind of makes you think, don't it.

Utterly amazing. Just based on the ignorant comments here says what America is about. Culturally intolerant and so close minded that people do not want to acknowledge how disfunctional our representatives are AND that they are wasting taxpayers money by NOT working for the people FULL TIME. Utterly amazing...Vman outraged over FLOTUS vacations, BUT WILL NOT type one thing of ANY of the other previous FLOTUS vacations. Our Naval Air Station was blocked off so that G.H.W. Bush, secret service, motorcade could land and go deer hunting on a regular basis. Bet you will tie that to the 2nd amendment versus abuse of tax payer money. Amazing...

Haha Valleyman, again people are laughing at you instead of with you, Let me guess your the guy thats in the front row at mass, maybe even an usher, yet you have no compassion or tolerance for the people with less than you. I certainly have a job probably much better than yours, and i don't mean just in pay. I certainly do not look down upon the retired, disabled and less fortunate the way you do, I am happy that we live in a country where the less fortunate are able to shop for the things they need. In your world there would be none of that. You would much rather have people beg and steal or kiss your EIB ring. Again, I will say the whole "Libtard" thing is offensive to those who have friends, relatives, etc. with mental handicaps and shows your true colors and narrowmindedness... Stop trying to T-bag me!!

Nuckythompson, you should be ashamed that your country gives a pass to freeloaders to steal from those that are productive. Remember the guy in Wintersville that was getting welfare benefits while he was driving a newer SUV, and living in a house while making a fortune dealing drugs?

Bob, if you look at the 2012 elections, the failed recall of the governor of wisconsin, and the very recent recall election of the Dems in Texas who were pushing anti-gun laws, you will see that the conservatives are doing quite well at taking back control and restoring our nation. Next year's elections will be just as successful.

Hagrid - Based on your last comment. That is the reason the republicans want to delay the ACA for a year. Its a ploy to buy time. Any idiot can see that. Honestly, I wished that both parties got voted out of office and we started with a new group of representatives (BOTH SIDES), but Americans are too stupid to realize that what's in there now is bad for our country. Yes, I said stupid Americans. Regardless of who has control of the house and senate, we are doomed until that changes.

I watched meet the press because Cruz was going to be on, and wanted to hear what he had to say. And he refered to himself and others as the "ruling class" he wasn't called that by anyone, he called himself that. I try to have an even approach but unlike you, my eyes do not roll back in my head and get very sleepy at the sound of the EIB network. When they snap their fingers you wake up. As far as the President goes, I have respect for the Office, no matter who is in. But you are opinionated out of bigotry would be my guess. Obama won two elections and carried Ohio, he is every American citizen's president like it or not!

Vman - You have truly justified your ignorance here with your offensive use of language that you know (or don't understand) that is derogatory. Because YOU SAW IT ON TV, you justify its use. That tells me that this is how you learn the words you use AND the mind set that you have based on watching fox tv. Since I have been on here, I have NEVER read anything from you with an independent or intelligent thought, just talking points from fox. You try to insult your way through forums. I may not agree with what the others say here, but respect the fact much of it comes from their viewpoints, with some talking points. I do respect them as well.

Well, you almost had me there, until you grouped Rush Limbaugh in with leaders of the Republican party. He isn't a politician. He is an entertainer. If you can't distinguish a politician from an entertainer, then how can you honestly write a letter like this and expect to be taken seriously?

EB,the fact that conservatives look at the facts and come to the same conclusion is not a lack of independence or intelligent thought. Quite the opposite.

Just because you choose to ignore the costs of ObamaCare, the facts of companies laying off workers, changing full time workers to part time, dropping supported health care all together, the projected shortage of doctors and millions more patients, the already tremendous increases in medical premiums, is not our fault.

You do know you will be paying for ObamaCare for 4 years before you will be allowed to use it, correct? Can you tell us how this is a great thing? What else do you buy that you pay for for 4 years before you caqn use it?

Hagrid, I am already reaping the benefits of the ACA. Actually, as soon as it went into LAW, I benefited. The LAW definitely needs tweaking and that should be the issue and not repeal. Cruz listens to right wing nuts who are gullible with his side stepping of issues. I would be all for repeal if the republicans had an alternative plan that INCLUDED PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS. If they REALLY had a plan they would have rolled it out as an alternative. Go figure.

EB, what benefits are you reaping? Please don't tell me getting others to pay the lion's share of the health insurance for your children is one of them. That would be sad. And terribly greedy.

Pre-Existing conditions, maybe? Again, you would simply be getting others to pay for your health care.

Your saying the Republicans don't have a plan shows your limited information. In fact, I posted links to several versions here. The Republican plans are not difficult at all to find, if you really want to find out, impossible if you don't. Let me know if you need help finding them. They don't require billions more debt and allow far less for the greedy to take from others to pay their own debts.

First lets clear this. I PAY FOR MY OWN HEALTH CARE (BOTH OF THEM). I have seen the differences as to charges (non charges) since ACA went into effect.

Your links of a so called plan came from fox. Also, why aren't the republicans yelling about what's in their plan if it is so much better? Honestly, I would love to see a BIPARTISAN approach to making the ACA better. Common sense tells me that BOTH sides could bring something to the table, but outside interest prevents that. A government shutdown eventually hurts everyone. Those 800,000 government employees stop spending their money, thus trickle down effect.

EB the only bi-partisan way to make this thing better would be to repeal Obamacare. I'm tired of you saying that people are "right wing nuts." Not all of those in office look out for the best interests of the people. They look out for themselves. Those that are doing the will of their constituants are not "nuts." You want to see this country get better? Take everyone on welfare, (people that have never held a job, you know the career bums) and take away their right to vote.

As of today, ACA IS THE "LAW". Get over that fact. Its time to fix the "LAW" that IS IN PLACE. I see you have another solution to the voting issue. My question is why register anyway? "One Person, One Vote". Make it that simple

I am actually glad it took effect today. I wish the republicans had just let it go. In 6 months to a year we will know what a disaster the law is and vote accordingly in Nov. 2014. I still think the disaster of the ACA will hurt the libtards in the mid tearms the shut down will be forgotten and anyway the people that blame the Reps are just a small percentage over the people that blame the libtards.
