Very good letter Daniel and it couldn't be more correct. It is time to stop the political pettiness and do something. Politics is the last thing we need to solve this problem. Elections will get the tight people in office that are concerned with the citizens not their agendas.

I half agree with the letter. The writer has also made this a partisan issue. The bottom line is that ALL leaders from the top down should open their eyes and SEE that crime is happening in ALL neighborhoods whether directly or indirectly. I don't agree in using the term "innocent people". Even "innocent" people know what's going on around them and they should take responsibility in reporting what's they deem not right in their communities. I keep saying technology can and will protect their identities. This is not about politics and the finger pointing should not be partisan as well. The solution is responsibility by ALL..

If the people of this valley want to see a decrease in crime we need to elect officials that will "put the screws" to criminals. Probation for breaking and entering should be replaced by 10 years in prison. Drug possession should also bring a heavy penalty. Pretty soon, the criminals will move back to the Chicago ghetto from which they came, and the others will reside in the bootyhouse.
