Does it matter if the only thing found was misdemeanors and fines? I don't think so, if laws were broken they need to be held accountable. Simply because the crimes were not felonies does not mean that they are any lesser. I do pray that the AG was able to pinpoint who served up the alcohol to these teens as well as get to the bottom of why no adults intervened throughout the entire evening. That's something I just can't wrap my head around. Not one adult acted responsibly. That needs addressed by the AG. Whether intentional or not, a young girl was viciously victimized because the adults failed to respond appropriately which should be a felony in my opinion. Child neglect resulting in serious physical harm or at the very least child endangerment charges need to be filed. Whether they knew what was going on or not is irrelevant, what matters is they knew there were minors in there home and as such should have monitored the situation. .

Yes, city council members are participating and members of our health care. As for the AG, from what I am hearing the only thing they are able to find are misdemeanors charges and fines. I guess we have to wait and wait for the conclusion if there ever is one. Also from what I have heard, if council does not pick a manager in time, there is a stipulation that they can ask for more time which will take it to almost the first of the year. Even if council is paying more for health care they voted for it plus the police. They still get many more perks , We need to do away with those, that way only Steubenville citizens on council will run because they want to see change and for the better of the city not the perks.

The fact that " those boys raped that girl " will continue to be an embarrassment to this area until the AG , and the Steubenville Mafia stop kissing the ***es of those who are guilty in this case. After over a year of so called "investigation" It's about time to let people know WHO is responsible.

Very thought provoking questions floatingtheriver. I still think a strong-mayor would serve the residents better. That way we can elect who WE think would do the best job instead of having someone thrust upon us that we know absolutely nothing about. The reaction from some after those boys raped that girl was slightly embarrassing. The citizens should have the chance to VOTE on who they think should be running the city. If Mucci is good enough to act as manager he's good enough to be mayor in a strong-mayor situation. The city could also save money by eliminating the city manager position.

One more. The council passed an ordnance in early spring to establish a charter review committee what happened to this and was it a ploy to get rid of the former manager.

The first thing is Ohio past legislation back a couple years ago stating no city could mandate residency (thank you Akron fire fighters), oh well Steubenville doesn't have to go by the state laws and the second is the fine mayor of Steubenville can't act as city manager for more than 120 days, guess what that time is up so the city needs to stop paying him 90k a year. I would also like to know if council members are participating in the health care, I would say not because that would cost them more than what they make. Steubenville you are walking on very thin ice. The question is are you going to step up and do something the way it is suppose to be done or are you going to continue business as usual? I'm guessing the later.
