Controversial New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, one of the nation’s more outspoken advocates of rigid gun controls and an avowed enemy of coal and big soft drinks, is throwing a fundraising party this month for Sen. Joe Manchin. Bloomberg’s bash comes at a time when the West Virginia senator is planning to try again on his once-failed bill to hand the federal government more powers to control firearms purchases.

Yep Joe wants what is good for WV I wonder how the majority of WVns think of this. The people he should be concerned with, not Bumberg.

Well for starters there were 11 embassy attacks and 52 deaths under GWB and 2 attacks and 4 deaths under Obama. Lets not forget the nearly 3000 on 9/11. It was later found out the IRS also targeted Democratic groups. Why you think that non scandal disappeared hmmmm? Then there is the NSA non scandal. That was done under the Patriot Act that was opposed by only 2 Senators and GWB signed that into law. Then the proposed gun law that is supported by 90% of America. Myself I want everyone to get a background check before buying a gun and any sane person does.

you antigun people just cant or wont get it right. We have background checks and every gun I have bought in the last 10 years I have been checked. So you want a law that is already on the books. The 90 % is a down right lie and obummer and bungbegh know it but keep spreading this manure. Only a fool would, believe it. I could name OVER a dozen states that that 90% wouldn't come close. The 90% crap just isn't possible and a lie.

Manchin is suppose to vote the way the majority of his constituents want him to vote not the way munchkin bumbergh wants him to vote. Only a pea brain would believe that 90% of the voters in WV want more gun control.

moteboy, I am not anti-gun, I am against criminals and sick people having them. If you buy all these guns you claim you do you know*****well an individual can sell a gun to anyone without any checks. I said 90 % of America not WV. A Senator isn't supposed to always vote with majority opinion, he is supposed to have the ----s to vote what he thinks is right sometimes.

The Gun Owners Protection Act of 1984 gave private citizens the right to sell, give away, trade, or bequeath their privately owned guns. It is not the problem the lying gun control lobby makes it out to be. Very few of those guns (less than 5%) make it into the hands of criminals, and that is usually by them being stolen by a criminal. More guns made it into the hands of criminals because of Fast and Furious than from private sales in WV. The gun control lobby lies about background checks, 90% and gun show loop hole to get the sympathy of the clueless. Any fool can see that if 20 plus states do not have 90% of the voters behind gun control the total can never be 90%. Manchin does not have to vote the way the majority of his constituents want him to vote but the same thing will happen to him that happened to Charlie Wilson. If he wants to keep his job he should .

Besides the 90% lie came from a Quinnipiac University poll. You can't get more biased or left wing than that. I would guess they only sampled from Il, Ny, Co, Md ,or Ct. I actually doubt that 90% of the voters in those states want more gun control.

You can not average 90% if 25% of the states don't come close to the 90%. It didn't reach 90% in the 5 to 10 states that are very anti gun so 90% is impossible. Now 90% of the liberals that were intentionally polled I would believe so tell it like it really is.

90% of the liberals polled wanted more gun control.

Moteman you make the argument so much better than I would ever be able to do. You hit the bullseye. I think Manchin is done in WV. Messing with our guns is fighting words.

So if just 5% of those guns sold without without backround checks end up killing 6 year old children, that's OK? Keep believing your Foux News and NRA polls. How about that President Romney hmmm.

Ohiodem, you seem to be all for the protection of innocent children. What is your thought on abortion? A process that kills thousands of children every year. As for Manchin, it is his duty to SERVE the people of state he serves. That means if they don't want additional gun control, he should vote against it. How about prosecuting and punishing criminals as a means to stop violence instead of gun owners that are just exercising their rights.

RPG makes a great point abortion is legal and has killed more children than any gun sold by a private buyer. obunger's drones has killed more children than guns sold by private citizens. More than 5% of cars sold kill children. Let's ban cars. More that 5% of alcohol sold kills children let's ban alcohol. Illegal drugs kill children but I bet ohiodem is for legalization of marijuana so more can be killed. Your argument about the 5% is lame and you know it. Plus if you had understood what I posted you would see that most of the 5% were stolen by criminals they were not sold. ohiodem you are wrong and you lost the debate. Case closed.

Almost forgot, I have a question for you Ohiodem. How can a person be charged with double homicide if they kill a woman and the woman's unborn child yet if the woman wishes to kill her own unborn child, she can do it legally?
