Richard,

Good Try, 17 Trillion in debt and we are still printing money.

Too bad we don't have a Republican Congress capable of holding Obama's feet to the fire like they did with Clinton.

Now all we have are Socialist Marxist Communist Democrats and Go along to get along Republicans that try to give the impression they are doing something, but are really doing Nothing. Passing bills that go to the Senate to be tabled Illegally by Reid, or receiving bills from Senate that need to be voted down , but have to counter proposed into their own Go Along to Get Along Amended Bill.

Ben Franklin said they gave us a Republic if we could keep.

Welcome to the New Socialist America you and others like you are creating.

Someone please inform debray "red-baiting" is so last century. "Domestic Terrorism" is the new Marxism. Label what you can't control. Got that part right at least.

Look at the dollars, Richard, not the percentages. And Obama is barely half way through. Also look at how he he has set us up for increased debt for our children.

Hagrid has it correct. Someone can say look at the percentages all they want. What matters is the amount in dollars.

Obama has done this country about as much good as a snooze button on a smoke alarm.

Pilk, Actually the ideals of communism are alive and well in our society. It is really not about the name its about the agenda. The names can be changed to hide the true agenda. Words and associations actually mean something. The current IRS, NSA and media spying scandals look like something Stalin would have approved. Add to this CISPA and the NDAA and it gets even more scary. It doesn't matter if you are a Democrat, Republican or an Independent we should all be concerned.

DEbray though we are conducting the printing service it is the Federal Reserve who is initiating the printing of more currency. The Federal Reserve is an independent privately owned business that collects interest on every dollar printed. This process is a continuum of national debt.

Charlie is right, our government is owned by the Federal Reserve Bank and the oil companies and any other entity that can afford an army of lobbyists such as Monsanto and pharmaceutical concerns. Forget the party system it is only still intact to keep us polarized.

It's the % of debt to the GDP which has people concerned. If the writer is not concerned then that is a real problem. I am more concerned that the Dow is at record highs but the average American is unemployed or underemployed. People are losing their health insurance due to ACA. Those that are not losing their insurance will be paying 25% more next year. Those that are working full time are now being moved to part time so that the company can skip on insurance. These facts scare me more.
