Serena was right! Teach your young daughters the possible consequences of being drunk at a party!!! There will always be bad people looking for a victim.

TBet55.... Or how about this... Teach your sons not to rape! Or stand around watching and laughing and taking pictures/videos while someone is being voliated!! Where is the rapists and their parents (since you want to hold accountable the girl's parents) responsibility in this?!?

Thankfully Serena Williams has the heart to connect with the young Steubenville rape victim to apologize. It is extremely hurtful for sex abuse victims to feel not believed.

Serena Williams is a FOOL. She doesn't understand the meaning of "Rape is Rape". She should have kept her big fat mouth shut and just play her tennis game. I hope the grand jury comes down soon with the indictments of all those involved in the rape and coverup. We are waiting AG DeWine!

Enough of this already. Find other news. Herald Star and WTOV9 you've milked this "entire" case for as long as you possibly can. Regardless of how you feel about any of these teens involved, it's time to let the all heal from this. If every single day you woke up and no matter were you went people kept saying I remember when you did this or I remember when that happened to you, it would make you lose your mind. LEAVE THESE KIDS ALONE!!!!

LynneB is right! It's amazing how people say "girls should know better than to get pass out drunk". Shouldn't everyone know this? Male or female? Teens specifically. However, it happens, but if parents of boys would teach them not to rape (which apparently has to be said in those words and explained that sex with someone not able to clearly say yes for these idiots)then it would be a non-issue. Wonder how you defenders of the rapists would feel if it happened to the boys? And Serena Williams lost all of my respect.

Lemermaid - The "kids" should have never raped a girl or stood around and did nothing to stop the rape, if they didn't want to have their name associated with this crime for their entire lives. Do you think it's fair that the girl will have to live with this her entire life??

@WeirSteuben Sooooooo you think to punish the boys everyone should keep bringing it up? You don't think that by constantly bringing it up it's not causing Jane Doe distress? I question your concern for Jane Doe. I understand that it's your right to keep the flames of anger burning, but sometimes in life it is better to yield the right of way.

@lemermaid- sooooo, I do not have any flames of anger burning, and by yielding the right of way, do you mean act as if this event never happened? These boys should be reminded daily of what they did to Jane Doe. It's only fair since she'll be reminded of it for the rest of her life.

I personally believe her statements were probably taken out of context as it is most of the time with reporters. With that said, JD has to live the rest of her life with not just what happened to her but also the sick tweets, photo, and video uploaded online. Those parents and that coach hold a lot of the culpability here, it is moronic of anyone to blindly trust teens.
