Before their name was changed in the 1980's, the name for the American Bulldog was American PIT Bulldog. Am Bulls are pits with long legs.

When an American (pit) Bulldog bites for no reason, without warning first/without trying to avoid a confrontation, it is being a "good" (pit) Bulldog.

Attacking for no reason/no warning is what "good" fighting dogs do. Since pits were mutated to kill their own (normal social/pack animals do not wantonly attack/kill their own kind) no other species is safe.

Normal dogs need to be angry or abused to bite. Good pits do not. That's why they normally do not growl or bark. They want to be in the position to attack. These behaviors are essential for pits to be THE fighting dog, past and present.

Here's an idea: We can stop breeding MORE mutant dogs. Pits are victims too of these man-made flaws. Stop making more victims. Enact and enforce mandatory spay/neuter microchipping of all pits, pit mixes, all dog aggressive dogs.
