The fact that DeWine had to come into our town to get justice in this case is an atrocity. So many of our "leaders" dropped the ball on this or they even tried to cover this up in order to protect our football team and our championship-winning coach. This goes much deeper than just a rape. This is corruption, just like in drug cartel controlled towns in Mexico, we have our own little cabal composed of coaches, school administrators, government officials, school officials, attorneys, parents and law enforcement officers. Each of them has a piece of the big money pie that is Big Red football.

If just one big name in the house of cards falls, then the rest of them fall too. We all know who these big players are and they have been at this for years. How much longer will we support them and their crooked little cabal?

I and many others are done. We've had it. Please Grand Jury, do your job and get this filth out of our town and in prison where they belong. God bless yo

Who exactly is the person in the school district that shields the coach from speaking publicly on the record? How can this anonymous person prevent a news organization from demanding a response? It seems there is a cabal- this coach , a principal who is subservient, a superintendent who genuflects at the coach's altar, a school board that values game tickets(another story) over moral oversight and the local press, which has neither the gumption nor the mission to investigate. What a sorry lot ,

We await justice for Jane Doe from all those who tried to cover up the rape and protect the Big Red Football program. Steubenville is full of scum that needs to be scrapped off the top of the pond. Coach Sac should have been canned long ago for what he said and did about the rape, and now should go to jail along with the BOE & Principal who failed to do their duty, and those who supplied the houses & alcohol.

First it was, "We'll release a statement after the trial." The trial was over, and there was no statement. Then it was, "We'll release a statement after the GJ." I'm sure the next response will be, "We'll release a statement after those indicted have had their trials." I'm not holding my breath on the school district making a statement anytime soon!

Oh, you holier than thou idiots. How about letting the GJ do their job and let people be tried and convicted before passing judgement. Bill of Rights, anyone? The State was called in to eliminate anyone saying there was a cover up, very smart and the right thing to do. The BOE and SHS have done everything they have been asked by the GJ, the State and the Judge. Ease off people and let due process work. I am sorry that your hatred for all that is Steubenville over runs your American values.

Love you old lenny, you say what we old schoolers out here are thinking, but just can't put in words as you. Let's hope justice is served, but it is Steubenville and everyone in the country, not just here should now know what that indicates. A county that operates like Wash DC and looks like a mini Detroit. How much worse can you get. Take care

Responding to automan260:

Call us whatever you want, friend, makes no difference. We are your friends, neighbors and relatives who live in this fine city with you.

The elite players in this "game" have a lot to lose, perhaps you are one of those.

The rest of us have already lost. We no longer trust our leadership because they are corrupt, driven by the want of power and money. Our towns awful reputation has given us the name Stupidville. We, the citizens, have allowed all of this to happen. It is time to come together and clean house, healing our fine city.

This is just the beginning, friend. Mark my words.
