I knew someone would come with the excuse that "councilmen make $75 for a regular or sunshine session of council." We don't need 7 councilmen. So even if it were 75 cents it would be 75 cents too much if the positions are unnecessary. We live in a depressed area were only 35% of the people pay into local tax and we are trying to figure out how to run a city on little to no money. That doesn't mean something is wrong with all the councilmen. One of the councilmen that we should keep is Kenny Davis because he proves that he is working for the best interest of the community.

As the city manager serves at the pleasure of city council (per our city charter), firing her is the equivalent of rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Until the culture of corruption is eliminated from local politics, nothing will change.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got.

You all need to read, "Who Moved My Cheese"...go to the Library & check it out or just sit down & read won't take's just a little book. Most of you can read little books.

And stop pushing for the elimination of positions on council. What do you want... Fewer people so you can claim corruption more than you do already? It takes 5 of the 7 to make a major move like this and do you think they did it lightheartedly, I think not!! They just resigned her contract that she just started in March; this is only May people and here they are in a position whereby she's resigning after 2 executive sessions. These people didn't come to this point easily, kudos for making a bold move. The work of this council has just begun and we can only hope there is room to make it happen. Now lets move on, please.

Give it a break already!! Goodness you people should get real lives. These councilmen make $75 for a regular or sunshine session of council. Some have healthcare some don't. All these extra meetings are in their dime and now they don't get full service credit in the retirement. If you think reading your negative comments makes their jobs that much easier you're sadly mistaken. Granted there has always been questionable moves made but don't you think you could error on the side of positive right now instead of being so negative? This city mgr came here with utterly NO experience as a City Mgr and the last council gave her 90,000--same about the last genius got but he had tenure. (Did about the same financial damage as this chick did but still was better qualified). You will have 6 new councilmen come January how about giving them a chance instead of beating them down? Should you feel compelled to continue complaining feel free run in the next election.

The only reason the council forced her hand to resign is because the community is calling for some of their positions to be eliminated. City Council isn't doing their job anymore than Davison was doing her's. What does it take to get some of you council members to vacate your seats. You are a drain on the city's finances. Why should you milk the community. PUT THE FACEBOOK PAGE BACK UP so that you can find out what your community needs and what we dislike. The only way one of the city council members would know what her ward would want is via FB because many in the community say she won't even speak if you walk past her. Not a people person.

I'm glad that she is gone. She wasn't suited to the position and was doing more harm than good. NOW!!!! To other business, there are city council members that should resign effective immediately!!!! There are entirely too many of them for a town of 18,000 people. If she has the grace to leave some of you city council members need to follow suit.

Poor woman. She apparently did not know as an outsider what she walked into when taking the position. Having to sell your soul (if you have one) doesn't quite work for everyone. The ruling class here has been corrupt for so long they can only tolerate weasels working for them. I wish her well, though there is much $$$$ in playing nice with them, there are things more important in the long run. That would not make sense to "them" and those who are compromised. They sold their souls so long ago they don't even remember who they were or where they came from. Cathy, you are better off w/o that bunch. Good luck God Speed. To the weasels that did this, your day will come. No one gets out of here alive.

Well here ya go Steubenville. Nice job, heck I'm surprised it took you this long. Ok all you mayor form of gov lovers now is your chance to save some money. Lets take a look at this mayor work for free, ya ok, in this gov you also need a safety director, good luck finding that for free also, you will also need a treasurer and deputy treasurer, good luck finding them for free, and administrative director, ok for sure you can find one of those for free. So for 1 person you want to find at least 4 more people and want them to work for free. Sounds like something Steubenville can do because everyone is just dying to work for nothing. Have fun with that venture.

It was time for her to go. In fact, way oer time for her to go!

Highly overpriced in the first place, and all she did was try to shut down everything, instead of bringing in business, (which she was hired to do, and what happened to all those Grants and things she was supposed to be bringing in also?), which failed to appear.

Better business, more tax base in which to maintain the Infrastucture with. Relocating businesses from one place to another, with in the City, doesnt quite make it. Are we getting any business from the Fracking Industry yet? The Oil Companies? Someone should be on those people to get them to come to Steubenville.

OK, whos got the 'juice' to do this? Thats who we need to hire next time.

I wish you well...

Steubenville absurd story continues.

Cathy was doing a great job compared with the local dingbats who form our city government.

In the interest of transparency she started a city facebook page. Nope. this was too open for our dear city leaders.

In the interest of lower water rates for residents, Cathy looked into the possibility of having an independent water company take over our water department. Nope. The city employees did not like this idea either. It might just mean some of them would loose their jobs.

She mentioned bringing in the national guard. Great idea actually. Our police department is doing an absolutely lousy job.

I think its time the whole city munipial corporation is shut down. We need a fresh start.

If there is one single thing standing between steubenville and a brighter future it is our dear city government. Not just our council but the city employees as well.

Time to clean house!
