Congrats Joseph Nocera, on a job well done, I'm sure the school will miss you. This article has nothing to do with the rape but the accomplishment of a Principle who has made the school system better! And a number 1.....#1 school in the state of OHIO!

The BOE has no idea what RAPE is or what it's all about. They promote their scumbag Coach Sac who who knew about the rape, failed to report it, and then tried to cover it up all for the sake of his football team. It's no wonder the city and schools are so disgusting. Don't worry, the grand jury will soon indite scumbag Coach Sac and the truth will come out under oath in a court of law. Jane Doe deserves better from the BOE.

Let's give him his day in court. BUT; how could this Superintendent who recommends hiring and firing to the Board do so in clear conscience?

How can a Board of Education approve this recommendation?

Why aren't these adults, deemed required to report crimes by law, able to continue to work without suspension pending the Grand Jury?

If the evidence in the court case was accepted as true, and used as evidence to convict; how can this be that a Board of Education and Superintendent, allow this to go on?

Search Coach Reno on one of the search engines; the news, sports, and anyone interested are going crazy with disgust that this was permitted to happen.

There is no local coverage other than this footnote of a sentence in a backpage article.

Why? Just tell me why?

If there is no case, I will accept it. But why is there no suspension; and a reward given? Why?

Our children are being brutalized while those that should protect them turn a blind eye. We must change the message from "Don't get raped" to "DON'T RAPE." Those that knew and did nothing are just as guilty as the perpetrators themselves. Shame on Steubenville Schools. At the very least Coach Sac should have been suspended pending investigation - along with every other administrator/coach involved. When will we place the value of our children above the value of sports or money or reputation? Who will protect the most innocent among us?

This coach, who probably jeopardized a rape victim, quite possibly knew about the crime and shielded the rapists, who might have refused to speak with investigators, has been been given a promotion. The sickness continues. You all should be ashamed, editorialists too, who by not taking a stand against this travesty, are condoning it.

Did I see tucked in that boring article that Reno Saccocia got two yr. contract for admin. position. After the year from*****in Steubenville, how does this make a lick of sense? Oh yea, It's Steubenville where down is up and up is down. Other words, sense has nothing to do with decision making among the city ruling class. Just "shut up and take it." That's all we underling, those w/no voice here have heard since we went down the Rabbithole, that is Jeff. Cnty.
