very well said.you forgot to mention that you as parents should be responsible for your child upbringing, not the police or the school teacher.irresponsable parenting should be a crime.

Well Joe, I can't say I totally disagree with this letter.

Monsanto executives are now rejoicing after Obama with his blatant and cocky decision to go through with the Monsanto Protection Act.

Monsanto actually wrote the rider itself, people have now come to fully understand just how deep the corruption goes when it comes to Monsanto's Big Food monopoly.

I wonder why?

The "rape case [went] virile because social media was allowed to go unchecked"? Let's not forget who engaged social media! The perpetrators and their friends used social media first by posting pictures and videos, and by making comments via Twitter and Facebook. The better question is why do parents allow children, victims and perpetrators, to go unchecked? It does not take a village to raise a child. We are witnessing the horribly negative effects of that concept. It does, however, take engaged fathers and mothers.

WOW! Your letter makes me hesitant about your city but I really believe that not everyone has your terrible attitude. RAPE, it's not something to brush to the side which it would have been had it not been for that "unchecked social media". I'm just appalled.

anshutes you are right but the social media didn't find anything that the prosecution didn't already have. Alexandra Goddard posted items she recovered from cyberspace which is OK but she editorialized her speculation and allowed others to do the same with no evidence to support their opinions thud created a damaging rumor mill. The majority of the citizens of Steub are as normal and moral as the rest of society. nkelley there is nothing to prove that this rape vwould be brushed aside. The out of control social media distorted information and made it harder to get people to come forward because people on social media could post anything without using their names which scared people who may have had significant information from coming forward.

Having said the previous I eant to point out that you both seemed to miss the point of my letter. I want to know how many people will get involved with saving our children from daily attacks on their mind and bodies. Do you believe that the daily injestion of hormones, steroids and other poisons may impair our children during their stages of development and possibly interfere with their ability to make judgements and control themelves. Maybe you don't think it is worth looking into. Diagnosis of ADD/ADHD have gone up 16% since 2007. we may be able to determine ways to stop some behaviors by stooping the exposure of our kids to detrimantal stimuli that exists because it is profitable. Remember the negative affects from these poisons not only impair children but it is apparent that many parents are impaired.

Parents should be responsible for the actions of their children; especially when they fail to educate their kids, empower their kids, contribute to their delinquency, and make every effort to turn the other way.

I don't know if it would have been brushed aside but things were deleted before evidence could be made and because of Goddard much of that was saved.

I don't think everyone in your city is bad--just the opposite, there are good people everywhere but this needs to be kept in the limelight, it's the only way to help prevent future occurrences.

And Maverick, are you insinuating that because of medication these kids did this? I think not, many children and adults take necessary medication and don't rape people. No more excuses!

nkelley, Goddard did not recover anything that was not recovered by the forensic unit if BCI. It is just that the information recovered during an investigation is not released until the investigation is complete so that criminals and their attorneys don't take advantage of this information. It wasn't that Goddard released information but she editorialized and intepretted this information and allowed her readers to do the same and much of what they came up with was wrong. And when challenged she hid from the court system so she couldn't be served a subpeona and her followers ran helter-skelter to prevent from exposing their real names a got tha ACLU to protect their right to spread rumors under fictitious names. This is not the road to justice. I am not suggesting that these kids were on meds that made them rape this girl. CONTINUED

Nkelly I am suggesting that the physical and mental well being of our children are under daily attack from the additives to the foods that the FDA allows on the market, the contamination that they breath and assimlate from the environment and the stimuli both audio and video that they are bombarded with through mass media. There is evidence that the growth hormones, steroids, pesticides, preservatives, genetically altered seeds and processes that dramatically alter our food chain severely impacts the development of our children through their formative years. This has been going on for decades now and gets increasingly worse. Even the parents of these kids may have impaired reasoning because of these factors. My question is, "doesn't these types attacks on our children deserve the same type of protests? isn't this abuse also uncalled for? is it possible that the damage to the brain caused during the developmental years plays a role in delinquent behavior?

No maverick, it's not the same. Your putting attention on something that has nothing to do with the terrible behavior of these kids. I think what your saying goes on another letter that has nothing to do with this rape.

nkelley, that is where u r wrong. What I am saying has to do with the terrible behavior of all kids' Juvenile misbahavior is on the rise as well as juvenile impairments such as ADD/ADHD and autism, which is increasing at an alarming rate. If u would do some research on the consequences of the variety of contaminant additives that find their way into the developing minds and bodies of our children you might see where making real time judgements for young people can b impaired or clouded. I am not blaming this entire rape case on poor nutrition, and media information laced in drugs, sex, and violence. But I am pointing out the way our youth r violated on a daily basis and the repurcutions from the damage done during the developmental stages. During the teen years when the the body's glands star adding fresh hormones into young people that stimulate the titilation and growth of all bodily organs, the FDA allows the dumping of steroids and growth hormones via the food chain into kids.

There is evidence that some food additives actually attack the brain and other organs. Look at the youth crimes on the rise. Mass murder, rape, bullying, assault and battery. Young girls having babies and placing them in a dumpster. Do you want to blame parents, citizens, teachers, cops and others for the increase of these crimes. These crimes r being commited by kids who r out of touch with reality. There exists a variety of components that sends a child into a killing frenzy. So it is like a recipe of negative influences that doesn't impact everyone so you can not point to the kids with minimal exposure and say there is no excuse for these others to act out other than them having bad parents or horrible role models. Ue can choose to ignore the way our childrens' mental capacity is being damaged but sooner or later you will have to consider these outside factors because gun control, invasive social media and masked protest aren't even going to scratch the surface of the problem.

nkelly, does this alarm you. 1 in 3 kids are overweight 1 in 6 kids have learning disability 1 in 9 have asthma 1 in 10 is ADD/ADH1 in 12 have food allergies 1 in 20 have seizures 1 in 88 have autism 50% of all American kids have chronic illness or are overweight We are what we eat and we are allowing our children to be poisoned and if you can't see how this relates to behavioral problems during and after the developmental stages it may be the result of you being poisoned.

Children eat the food they are given. If they are given fruit, they eat fruit. If they are given fast food, that's what they eat. Nutrition is important, yes, but a cheeseburger didn't make them do it. At some point, you sir, need to MAKE THE PARTIES RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS INSTEAD OF BLAMING IT ON THIS, THAT OR THE OTHER. Sometimes kids make bad choices, but sometimes it's bad kids doing bad things. That has, also, be going on for decades. You can't blame the music, the movies, or the food. It's CHOICES that caused this to happen.

"1 in 3 kids are overweight" because 1 in 3 parents don't have their children involved in daily activity. "1 in 6 kids a have learning disability" because 1 in 6 parents want to obtain an IED and get a disability check for the kid instead have them apply themselves in class. (don't get me wrong, i know true disabilites are out there, i am speaking on the less than honest people in the world) "1 in 9 have asthma" medical condition. "1 in 10 is ADD/ADHD" because 1 in 10 have 3-5 game systems in their home and are not participating in physical activity. (again, yes, there are some true cases, but far too many are due to the lack of physical activity.) "1 in 12 have food allergies" sorry, those have been around FOR DECADES "1 in 20 have seizures" again, medical condition, not food related. "1 in 88 have autism" medical, not food. "50% of all American kids have chronic illness or are overweight" 50%????? wher

Here are some facts yu will learn from my sources:There are a growing number of clinicians and basic scientists who are convinced that a group of compounds called excitotoxins play a critical role in the development of several neurological disorders including migraines, seizures, infections, abnormal neural development, certain endocrine disorders, neuropsychiatric disorders, learning disorders in children, AIDS dementia, episodic violence, lyme borreliosis, hepatic encephalopathy, specific types of obesity, and especially the neurodegenerative diseases, such as ALS, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, and olivopontocerebellar degeneration.

More facts:Aspartame is a neurotoxin and carcinogen. Known to erode intelligence and affect short-term memory, the components of this toxic sweetener may lead to a wide variety of ailments including brain tumor, diseases like lymphoma, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue, emotional disorders like depression and anxiety attacks, dizziness, headaches, nausea, mental confusion, migraines and seizures. Acesulfame-K, a relatively new artificial sweetener found in baking goods, gum and gelatin, has not been thoroughly tested and has been linked to kidney tumors

Hormones and additives are added both to the feed and medicinally to animals to increase consumer attractiveness, and while "additives are being designed to increase shelf life and consumer appeal, however, two major additives are being used that have estrogenic qualities" (Knoblauch, 2010, p. 1). These additives and hormones are actually added to mimic human hormones and "anabolic steroids such as trenbolone became popular in the 1970s. They were claimed to have only slight side-effects, and improved food-conversion efficiency" (Hormones, 2005). As such, it is becoming increasingly apparent that children are approaching puberty and or gaining more weight much earlier than forty years ago. In fact, certain studies are showing that increased uses of hormones in poultry production are jump-starting children into puberty earlier and earlier. "In the late 1970s, the U.S. banned a growth hormone (DES) known to cause cancer. (cont)

Rather than destroying the leftovers, the manufacturer shipped remaining hormones to Puerto Rico where the farmers liberally injected their chicken, pork, and beef herds. Shortly thereafter, thousands of children as young as two were found to have reached full sexual maturity.

The research goes on. If you have children I recommend you do more research. If you can't see a corralation betwenn these food additives and behavior modifications in young people It is because this rape has hit an emotional chord with you and you would prefer to be motivated by hate before considering what may be the real problem that I assure you will not go away.
