I wonder who came up with that brilliant plan? According to the fire contract there will be overtime now. I guess to pay overtime is smarter than paying straight time? How does that balance the budget? Council should have taken a closer look as to what they were agreeing too. I guess layoffs are easier than balancing the the city manager takes the easy way out...again.

I guess if you announce "council keeps fire station open" that they are doing a good thing...but in reality they are going to lay off firefighters. They still have to do more with less...
