Great article - maple syrup is indeed a healthy addition to all sorts of recipes (including pancakes). It is important to make sure that you are buying PURE MAPLE SYRUP however. The picture accompanying this article is one of LOG CABIN (high fructose corn) SYRUP. Any syrup labeled as "table" or "pancake", is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. So make sure to check the ingredients list. PURE MAPLE SYRUP has only one ingredient - PURE MAPLE SYRUP.

I just wanted to mention that I made the Cinnamon Chip Maple Squares and they are very good! HOWEVER, please note that one of the ingredients is missing from the ingredient list. The directions mentioned mixing together the flour, salt and baking powder; but there was no baking powder listed in the ingredients. I used 1 teaspoon of Baking Powder, and that did the trick. Wanted to mention it in case someone else printed the recipe and found the same omission. Maybe someone can add it back to the on-line version? Anyway, great taste and easy to make!
