The blasé attitude of the authorities isn't lost on us. The whole world is watching you Steubenville, and we have noticed that you're not taking this seriously.

He should not have been permitted out of state and I agree with the poster who believes he should have been remanded to the custody of a juvenile detention center for the duration of what appears to be his foster parents' trip with their biological child. Oh, I forgot--Big Red Football rules, not the Ohio Revised Code.

Must be nice, having all that rich athlete boy privilege. Aaaaaaaand we wonder why these kids don't act like rules apply to them.

This was wrong on so many levels. Who "babysat" the defendant while his guardians went to NYC to appear on The Today Show? If this family wanted to take a vacation the defendant, who is on house arrest, should have gone to the juvenile detention center until the family returned. House arrest with attendance to church and alternative school at the juvenile center only means just that -- not a trip across the country for pleasure.

1. I am pretty sure many on "house arrest" would love to travel out of State. 2. Are they in the same class at ALternative School? 3. Are they receiving counselling at school? 4. Are they taken out of class to take tests?
