Colliers auxiliary marks golden anniversary

CELEBRATING?50 YEARS – The Colliers Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary celebrated their 50th anniversary at a dinner held earlier this month. COLLIERS — For 50 years a group of Colliers women have worked to ensure their community is protected from fires while making making their local fire hall a center of its social life. The Colliers Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary celebrated its 50th anniversary with a dinner held last month in the department’s social hall and attended by state Del. Jack Yost, D-Brooke. It was a fitting site for the event, having served as the location for numerous fundraisers, children’s parties and other events staged by the group. Among the many on hand were the auxiliary’s current leaders: Phyllis Aria, president; Charly Vilga, vice president; Evelyn Robinson, secretary; Carolyn Fowler, financial secretary; Carol Cain, treasurer; and trustees Nancy Yeater, Virginia Smith, Carol Oiler, Chris Champ and Erin Adams.
