Petties scores season-high 23
STEUBENVILLE — The Catholic Central girls basketball team got the job done on both ends of the floor Monday night. Ginny Petties scored a season-high 23 points as the Crusaders defeated Toronto, 53-23. Eight players scored for the Crusaders (6-3). Defensively, Catholic Central held the Red Knights (0-9) to single digits in the first three quarters, and the defensive pressure forced Toronto into making 30 turnovers. Central also had difficulty keeping possession of the ball as it committed 25 turnovers. “We played more as a team tonight,” Crusaders head coach Kevin Barr said. “We got a lot of kids in. They are young. “I thought we did a better job of rebounding the ball. We have got three games this week, and I thought we played more as a team on and off of the floor. “We have got to get ready for Weirton Madonna.
