Heart walk sends a good message
Area residents can get an early “start” toward a more heart-healthy lifestyle by participating in the annual American Heart Association Tri-County Start! Heart Walk on Saturday. Some residents who have overcome the odds and prevailed after their hearts had failed are leading the way in the yearly walk that aids in raising funds to fight heart disease and strokes. We’re encouraging area residents to get involved in the annual heart walk scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. at Jefferson Community College. A goal of $57,000 has been set, and all of the money raised through the event will go to the American Heart Association to aid in heart research.
