Methodists host second Corn Festival on Sunday
The second annual Corn Festival will be held on the grounds of Christ United Methodist Church, Weirton Heights from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
The festival, which features all the fresh-picked corn-on-the-cob you can eat, also includes meals of pulled pork or barbeque chicken, cole slaw, beverage and dessert.
The corn will be picked from the field earlier in the day on Sunday and freshly prepared on the church grounds for the festival while the pulled pork and chicken will be cooked on site by Bucky’s Smokehouse.
Additionally, free entertainment will be provided including a concert by the “The Donohues” and a performance by Victoria Gerst, who won the 13-year-old division for the “Ohio Valley Idol” contest in Steubenville earlier this summer.
