RECEIVES AWARD: Dr. Michael “Duke” Sarap of Cambridge, a former Steubenville resident, has been named the 2008 recipient of the John Sidlo Standard of Excellence for Vision, Leadership and Legacy Award given by the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce. The award is named after an early president of the chamber whose work culminated in the incorporation of the group in 1947. Sarap was valedictorian and president of the Steubenville High School Class of 1974. He graduated from Kenyon College and the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. He completed surgical training at the Marshall University School of Medicine, where he received the Seddon Award and was twice honored with the teaching resident of the year award. Board-certified in general surgery, Sarap has a practice in general, vascular and trauma surgery and endoscopy at Southeastern Med in Cambridge.
