Working at the Herald-Star for a combined total of 32 1/2 years, five years when the Herald Star was located on Fourth Street and the Fort Steuben Hotel was next door, I am excited about trying to blog. My husband, Lamont, is my only home companion now, but there were three sons raised at our brick home outside of Smithfield. There are now five grandchildren to keep us on our toes. My love of cooking sometimes drives my family crazy, as I come up with new recipes that don't always taste exciting. Reading is my favorite hobby after cooking and I have even been known to do some flower gardening.
