Time hangs heavy at times

April 23, 2008 - Esther McCoy
I had to think long and hard about being one of the blogging gang. Would I have enough time to do it as needed? I would like to be able to buy hourly increments of time from those who say they have too much time on their hands. I never seem to have enough. Despite running out of time on many days, I always manage to be on time for a meeting, assignment or luncheon date. It's the thing that older people such as myself were taught from our youth. "Time is money" was my dad's motto. I will risk driving fast if I think I will be even 5 minutes late for a doctor's appointment. And once paid $103 for my trouble when I saw the twinkling red and blue lights of the state patrol behind me. Many younger people don't respect time. I know, several of them are in my family. Because they would show up late to dinner, I started telling them it would be ready a half hour early. They finally caught on to this and started showing up 45 or more minutes later than I mentioned. Making them 15 minutes late anyhow. I don't know what the solution is. It drives me crazy to wait on people who have less to do than myself. But I am trying to see that it is small potatoes in the big things of life. I'll just have to bring a book along to kill the time...it's one of my favorite hobbies anyhow.
