Morgantown meeting

November 14, 2010 - Mike Mathison
It wasn't so much that West Virginia beat Cincinnati Saturday afternoon in Morgantown. Yes, that gives the Mountaineers another step toward a chance at a Big East title. But, it was about what it meant for the Valley. Steubenville Big Red graduates Zach Collaros and Branko Busick suited up and were on the same field for the first time since the 2006 state championship game. Yes, Collaros, the starting quarterback for the Bearcats, is the poster child for hard work and busting your butt. And, Busick is right there with him. Big Red coaches, past and present players were on the turf at Milan Puskar Stadium to watch this game. It is about two kids from a small high school, from a small town, playing major college Division I football. It's about two young men being role models for a group of kids they don't even know. It's about two close friends who want nothing but the best for each other. It will be even more fun next year when the pair meet in Nippert Stadium with Branko a starting linebacker for WVU, Collaros still behind center than that Shaq Petteway kid playing for the Mountaineers. It just got 33 percent better.
