True Blood Fanatic
August 18, 2010 - Brandi Bowers
Hi, my name is Brandi and I'm addicted to True Blood. Seriously, I can't get enough of this show! I'm not alone either. The HBO series has had record viewership. And if you've been watching this season, is each episode not crazier than the last (in a good way of course)?! There are very few TV shows out there that can combine comedy, drama & action, and maintain this momentum.
The new characters this season have just been so entertaining. You have the hot werewolf/knight in shining armor, Alcide. You have a combination of new groups: biker werewolves, possible fairies (all signs point to Sookie being a fairie princess), for lack of a better term, hillbillies, who we're not sure what creatures they actually are, only that they don't care for shifters. Oh, and there's the new King, Russell Edgington. Ok, so this week's episode wasn't as fast paced as previous ones this season, but his part at the end totally made up for it. He just burst onto the news set and took over, ranting about how dangerous and different vampires are, just to stir things up. "Now time for the weather. Tiffany?" PRICELESS!!!
Oh, but I don't want to discount any of the regulars on the show either. I think all the characters have really stepped it up. I'm especially excited about the role they've given Jessica. Last week I was a little nervous about her being up against the werewolves, but I shouldn't have been. She showed them. Last season I really liked her with Hoyt, but she seems like she's matured beyond him or sometihng. I'm interested to see more of her with Sam's brother, Tommy, or someone new. I'd also like to see a better relationship between her and Bill (which they've hinted at), like the one between Pam and Eric. That was a pretty great part this week also.
I can't believe there are only 3 episodes left this season! What will I do without True Blood for another year? At least I have seasons 1 & 2 on dvd and 3 on demand. Plus new episodes of Real Time with Bill Maher; East Bound and Down on HBO. And, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, there's already previews for Season 4. Really, I'm not too into this show. Oh, and for those of you who also can't get enough True Blood, check out this week's Rolling Stone magazine. Bill, Sookie and Eric are all on the cover!
