HBO & Entourage
June 18, 2010 - Brandi Bowers
I know Summer is a time to go on vacation or be outside swimming, grilling, camping, etc., but for those of us who work all week, it's also nice to go into the air conditioning and curl up on the couch & relax. Luckily, one tv channel realizes that, so thank you HBO!
HBO has had some of the best tv series... True Blood, The Sopranos, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight of the Concords, Big Love, East Bound & Down, Band of Brothers, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Sex and the City & Real Time with Bill Maher. Fortunately, a lot of these are NEW during the Summer.
As you know, per my previous blog, True Blood just started. The premiere did not disappoint either. This season promises to be dramatic, funny & exciting. The next season premiere I'm looking forward to is Entourage.
Entourage will be premiering its 7th season on Sunday, June 27th at 10:30 pm! If you haven't seen it before, you're definitely missing out. This is another one of those shows that effectively combines comedy & drama.
The story follows Vincent Chase (the adorable Adrien Grenier) in his move from Queens to Hollywood to become an actor. He takes with him his brother, Johhny "Drama" & two best friends, Eric "E" & Turtle (his entourage). These four make up the main characters, along with Vinny's agent, Ari (Jeremy Piven). Props to the creators on that casting btw. I've thought he was hilarious since I saw PCU way back when. And props on all around casting. Vinny's group really makes it feel as though you're not just watching actors on tv, but hanging with your buddies.
The story actually, partially comes from Executive Producer, Mark Wahlberg's life. He will even be appearing this season as himself, along with Lenny Kravitz & Sean "Diddy" Combs. I have to say that of all the seasons, last year wasn't the most exciting, but this year's promises to be already. So make sure to tune in for the premiere & if you need to catch up beforehand, go to On Demand for previous episodes.
PS. Entourage fans, I have good news and bad. The 8th season is likely to be the show's last, but that's only because they are in the works to make the show into a movie! So, in the words of Ari Gold, "Let's hug it out...!"
