Clash of the MacGruber in Wonderland

February 17, 2010 - Brandi Bowers
Not that it feels like it with all this snow, but Spring is approaching and that means the Hollywood Hits are on their way! Here are some of the movies scheduled to hit the big screen in March & April. Which ones are you looking forward to seeing?

Alice in Wonderland
March 5
Ok, so I know this is the movie everyone is buzzing about, but I'm just not sure if I even care to see it. I used to be a big Tim Burton fan. Edward Scissorhands & Batman Returns were pretty amazing, but his more recent films have just been to disturbing (yet somehow dull & dragging) even for me. I guess I'm also a little biased, because this was the one Disney movies I never liked. I'm a fan of the twisted paths & scary villains that lead to eternal love stories, but this one was just a crazy dream/acid trip that didn't feel like a Disney movie at all. I will give points for Johnny Depp, but aside from the Pirates of the Carribean movies, I'm not too crazy about his recent movies either.

Clash of the Titans
April 2
If anyone is excited to see this movie, it's me! The original came out the year I was born and I've always been fascinated by the stories & creatures from Greek mythology. I think the cheesy "special effects" of the 80s played a big part in why this movie was so interesting to watch, but I'm really excited to see everything they've done with making this movie now. Plus, Sam Worthington will be the main character, Perseus, and let's face it, he's pretty hot. Also, Liam Neeson should fill the shoes of Zeus quite nicely. If you've seen Taken, you know exactly what I mean.

April 23
Saturday Night Live has been one of the funniest & longest running shows on TV, but the movies that come out of these skits are not always the greatest. Sure Office Space & Wayne's World are now considered comedy classics, but Super Star & Ladies' Man... not so much. I have to admit, though, this spoof of MacGyver has been nothing short of hilarious on the SNL. And, with a funny cast & a main character in a mullet, you really can't go wrong.
