XM, No Static At All
September 5, 2008 - Paul Giannamore
It's back. It's in my car. And I can't get enough of it.
It's my XM Radio, which I haven't used in my car for nearly a year. It used to have a home in Norman Thunderbaum, my former Thunderbird, but I never could bring myself to mount it in The Enrico Cruiser, my late father's PT. I guess it was OK to put glue on my brother's old T-Bird's dash, but not on my dad's car.
But now, thanks to the discovery of an industrial suction-cup mounting thing and the help of my son, The Drummer, who knows how to hide wiring, my XM is back on the road.
Just in time to listen to the POTUS all-president, all-the-time channel during the conventions.
Steely Dan may have sung "FM" with the lyric "no static at all," but I like to think of the modern version as "XM, no junk I don't want to hear at all."
Ahhh. And merging with Sirius can only give me a bunch more selections, right? Or will it simply require more equipment purchases?
