A cruel, ignorant president

To the editor:

Individual No. 1 (President Donald Trump) and his criminal administration once again are showing the world that America is no longer striving to be that shining city on the hill. It shouldn’t shock anyone that he and his corrupt cabinet once again have blood on their hands.

First, he refused to condemn the Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman for orchestrating the brutal murder of a legal U.S. resident, Jamal Khashoggi, and now last week a 7-year-old girl, Jacklin Caal from Guatemala, died while in custody of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. She died after being in custody for hours without receiving medical care. She and her father were turned away at a port of entry but crossed the border elsewhere trying to seek asylum, but thanks to Individual 1’s inhumane policies, his hands are covered in more blood.

If Barry Bardone is wondering what harmful policies Individual 1 has implemented, how does that one work for you? (“Comment about comments,” Dec. 16.) If you are as “pro life” as you claim, you should be outraged over these events.

Individual 1 also stated that the closing of the Lordstown GM plant is no big deal and since “Ohio is under his control,” and those jobs will be replaced in a second. I would like to see this coward say these things to the faces of these hard-working men and women days before Christmas. Of course we know that will never happen because he doesn’t care about anyone but himself.

I’m 83 years old, and I’ve seen a lot of good and bad in our country, but I’ve never seen such a cruel and willfully ignorant president as Individual 1.
