Renforth deserves your vote

To the editor:

Scott Renforth was raised in Mingo Junction. I’ve known him and his family most of his life. While watching him and his brothers as youngsters, I always was impressed with how polite and caring they were. As a Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy, Renforth is a community leader, always caring, protecting and putting people first. He is highly educated, qualified and will make Jefferson County proud as our auditor. He has pledged, as auditor, he will be transparent and accountable.

He has served 20 years as a sheriff’s deputy, where he serves honorably under the leadership of Sheriff Fred Abdalla. He has served 16 years in the Edison Local School District as a school resource officer, ensuring the safety and security of students and staff. He’s an alum of the Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he received his bachelor’s degree and a master’s in business administration, concentrating in accounting.

A life-long resident of Jefferson County, Renforth has been honored as the 2006 volunteer of the year with the Jefferson County Anti-Drug Coalition. He’s was a Steelworker at the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and an active union member, who has always been in good standing for nearly 28 years.

Renforth has been endorsed by: United Steelworkers Local 1190, United Steelworkers Local 5644 (TIMET), Laborers International Local 809, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 246, the Upper Ohio Valley Building and Trades Council, Carpenters Local 186, the Central Labor Council, the Edison Local Education Association and the United Mineworkers of America.

He has been active in his community, growing up playing Little League Baseball in Mingo Junction, little league football in Brilliant as a Blue Devil and was a team player in high school sports.

Throughout his adult life, he has been active not just in his community, but in many Jefferson County communities. He is married to Christy Cronin-Renforth of Pine Grove Ridge in Brush Creek Township in Irondale. He and his wife are two of the most caring, giving, compassionate, understanding, trustworthy and selfless people I know.

Their daughter, Devin Renforth, is a graduate of Indian Creek High School and a server at the Steubenville Eat ‘n Park Restaurant. Their son at heart, Joshua Frey, died in December 2016.

Your vote for Renforth would help to elect a very honest and worthy man to a very important position. I encourage votes to look at his qualifications and vote for Scott Renforth.
