Health premiums going up
To the editor:
In March 2010, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law. This also is known as Obamacare. When this bill was passed, the U.S. government took over one-sixth of our nation’s health care.
These are statistics from www.Ehealthinsurance.com.
In 2017, new data from ehealth shows average individual (under Obamacare) health insurance premiums have increased 99 percent since 2013. During that same period, premiums for a family have increased 140 percent.
For 2018, data from ehealth shows individual premiums have increased 123 percent, and the average monthly premium for a family by 174 percent.
