Constitution Party looking good

To the editor:

It was only a matter of time before a shakeup took place in the GOP. Today, there is a great rift that will inevitably bring about the death of the Republican party if Donald Trump is named the nominee.

The problem that exists in the GOP is the battle between conservatives and liberals. I would say conservative liberals, but that could be construed as an oxymoron. So the battleline has been drawn and the true conservatives are ready to say goodbye to a party that has continually been adopting liberal ideology for the past 20-plus years.

Understand that just because a party believes in smaller government does not make it conservative. What made the GOP conservative was mainly its conservative views and defense of conservative views. Today that no longer exists, as the GOP is more concerned about getting votes then it is in keeping and defending conservative values.

This a call-out to conservatives who believe the GOP is worth saving. Why? It has been continually adopting principals to its platform in support of the liberal point of view. You essentially cannot tell the difference between the GOP and the DNP. The only difference between them is one side wants small government and the other large government.

After that, it would be difficult to discern between the two.

So I offer a new candidate for conservatives. Someone a true God-fearing conservative could vote for and retain a clear conscious.

There exists another party that most in this nation probably are unaware of. It is called the Constitution Party and can be found online. This party believes in the Constitution and defense of it. I believe if any conservative looks up online this party and reads what it stands for, you will wonder why you have supported the corrupt GOP all these years.

The Constitution Party has nominated a candidate to run for president. His name is Darrell Castle. I am tired of voting for candidates I don’t trust. I am tired of supporting a party that cares more about votes then what’s right.

I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said if you feel you don’t have a voice in government, chances are you don’t. Today his words are fulfilled, as the government today has become an entity unto itself apart from the people.

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”

“Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have. The course of history shows us that as a government grows, liberty decreases.” – Thomas Jefferson.
