Events bring joy to city

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Nelson and his family for bringing so much joy to Steubenville. The 2015 Nutcracker Village and Advent Market at Historic Fort Steuben and Visitor Center saw families from all over, smiling, laughing and taking family photos, while enjoying the magical wonderland located inside the center.

As a volunteer, I would like to thank many people for also being a big part of bringing so much joy to Steubenville, including Jerry Barilla, president, and Judy Bratten, executive director, of Historic Fort Steuben; Mary Snyder; Judy Barilla; Larry Coleman; Terry Papola; Mary Beth Baver; Gloria Renda; Irene Kroskey; Dave Mosti; Homer Hilty for the hayrides; all Advent Market vendors; employees of Nelson Fine Arts and Gifts; Scott Campbell of M&M Hardware; Anita Petrella of the JB Green Team for donating supplies; the Jefferson County Commissioners for lighting the courthouse; Jefferson Security; Steubenville Police Chief William McCafferty and the Steubenville Police Department for keeping a close eye on the nutcrackers; and a big thank you to the Herald-Star and WTOV-TV for such great coverage.
