CDI fundraiser a success
To the editor:
I want to extend a note of thanks to all who made the first Cancer Dietary Initiative Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser a fantastic success.
The CDI food pantry at the Tony Teramana Cancer Center held a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at Meyer’s Restaurant in Harrisville, just outside Cadiz. The fundraiser included a spaghetti dinner with meatballs, salad, homemade bread, homemade desserts and a soft drink, as well as door prizes and a 50-50 drawing.
Remember, 100 percent of the proceeds went to the CDI food pantry, as it is totally dependent on donations for its funding. It took a lot of planning, time and hard work on the part of all of the volunteers who made it happen. Here is a list of sponsors, donors and volunteers who, because of their time, effort and dedication to our food pantry, made the fundraiser a complete success: Meyers Family Diner of Harrisville, owned and operated by Cheryl and Charlie Meyers, who sponsored the dinner for us; Leslie Jeffries; Sysco; Hope for Hines; Dr. Pervaiz Rahman, co-chairman of CDI; Diane Wasco; Wanda Gallato; June Crago; Dan Felton; Jeff and Michelle Nageldinger; Steve and Annette Seminara; Teresa Heiss; Deane Ralston; Becky Fellows; Tammy Smedley; Ginger Weddington; Haily Weddington; Teresa Young; Rob and Susan Miller; Jeff Ashkettle; IGA of Colerain; Nancy Swickard; employees of the Tony Teramana Cancer Center; the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School; Federico Foods; Steubenville Bakery; and Allietta Ford.
Many thanks and kudos to all for a job well done and, more important, for a job in which everyone put a lot of heart and care. Believe me when I say this is greatly appreciated.
Secretary of CDI
