Federal authorities could be a help
To the editor:
From the national and local Ohio news reports that chronicle the Steubenville rape case, my contention is that Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla is over his head with this case.
I think the sheriff means well, but a case that involves the complexities of people watching a crime and doing nothing (which is a crime in Ohio by itself), to the number of football players who could be tried as accessories to a crime … this is a lot for Abdalla to confront.
I hope he decides to request federal authorities and resources to help him.
