Event will help Weirton Chamber

Saturday’s Wine and Dine at Williams Country Club in Weirton will offer are residents a chance to sit back and relax while helping their community.

Scheduled to start at 6 p.m., the event, now in its fourth year, was created by the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce as an evening of fun, leisure and entertainment, while serving as a fundraiser for some of the chamber’s more prominent programs.

Attendees will be able to relax, catch up with friends and sample various wines, beers and food. Carriage rides also will be available, as will the “Man Cave” area featuring cigars and liquors.

Proceeds from the event help with the upkeep of the community Christmas lights that line several of Weirton streets during the holiday season, as well as support the chamber’s educational programs, such as Leadership Weirton, Youth Leadership Weirton and the high school business symposium.

It’s a positive event, put on by the chamber and the Business Development Corp. of the Northern Panhandle, as well as several sponsors, including Weirton Medical Center, Wine and Beverage Merchants, PS Marketing, WesBanco, Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort; Paper & Press Ink, Grae-Con Construction and the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Additional support is being provided by Weirton’s Wal-Mart Supercenter, which is donating the prize for a special drawing, and the Weirton Aaron’s store, which is providing furniture for the evening.

It’s a great event, a wonderful evening and a lot of fun, and one we hope you will support.
