Sharon Krzys

Sharon J. Krzys, 74, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh on Thursday, February 14, 2019, following a sudden two-week illness.

Sharon was born in Beaver Fall, PA, on November 1, 1944. She was a daughter of the late Marie Randall.

Sharon had an abundancy of energy for life. Her quick wit and bright spirit brought a smile to the faces of everyone she met. She leaves her best friend and husband, John Krzys. Together they attended WVU football games as season ticket holders for 30 years. In addition to her being a huge WVU football fan, Sharon also loved her Pittsburgh Steelers. Always active, she was an avid runner; she could often be found on the trails at Brady’s Run Park. Earlier softball was her game and she usually enjoyed a post-game beer with her friends. Sharon graduated from Beaver Falls High School and she had attended Robert Morris University. A Christian by faith, she retired as the office manager for IBEW Local #272 in Midland, where she worked for 18 years.

Along with her mother, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Randall.

Besides her husband John, who she married in 2001, she leaves her son, Jeremy Krzys and his wife Kristy of Newell; her daughter, Amber (Vince Ravine) Krzys of Encino, CA; and two grandchildren, Kendall Krzys and Jace Cunningham.

Pastor Craig Greathouse will celebrate Sharon’s life with a memorial service at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 7 p.m. Friends are invited to visit the family at funeral home on Wednesday two hours prior to the service, from 5-7 p.m.

Virginia I. Minch

Virginia I. Minch, 90, of Mingo Junction, OH, died peacefully February 13, 2019, at her home.

She was born June 23, 1928, in Mingo Junction, a daughter of the late William and Barbara (Myer) Sinclair. Virginia was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry R. Minch Sr.; son, Harry Minch Jr.; brothers, George E., William H., John R. and Robert B. Sinclair; sisters, Clara M. Michael, Marian F. Sinclair and Barbara R. Turner.

Virginia is survived by her children, Georgeann Swickard, of Toronto, OH, Janine Minch of Richmond, OH, Mark (Linda) Minch of Mesa, AZ, Sarah Barrett of Fair Hill, MD, and Paul (Karen) Minch of Inwood, WV; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Trant of Columbus.

Friends will be received Sunday 5-8 p.m. in the Blaschalk-Wilson Funeral Home, 115 Union Ave., Mingo Junction. Funeral service will be held Monday 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Father James Dunfee officiating. Burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery.
