Mary Workman

Mary E. (Nightingale) Workman, 89, of Blacklick, OH, formerly of Irondale, OH, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018, in Westerville, OH.

Mary was born December 31, 1928, in Irondale, daughter of the late Carl and Sarah Stella (Ridgley) Nightingale.

She was a member of the New Somerset United Methodist Church, and she taught Sunday School at the New Somerset Christian Church. Mary was a part of the Willing Workers and she loved to sing and her Oreo cookies.

Mary also was a fair director for 10 years with the Jefferson County Fair Board. She was active in 4-H and she was a member of the Eastern Star Toronto Chapter 215.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Bruce ‘Bus’ Workman, who passed in February of 2012; her son, David B. Workman; and three brothers, Jack, James and Carl.

Mary leaves behind her two grandchildren, Brian Workman of Blacklick and Brianna Workman of Reynoldsburg, OH; her brother, William ‘Bill’ (Joyce) Nightingale of Georgia; and her three great-grandchildren, Wesley Workman and Dean Renico, both of Reynoldsburg, and Eva Riggenbach of Worthington, OH.

Family and friends will be received Friday, August 17 from 4-8 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Frank Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Hammondsville Cemetery in Hammondsville, OH. There will be an Eastern Star service Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
