Norma Ossio

Norma C. Ossio, 87, of Steubenville passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Austintown Healthcare Center.

Norma was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Steubenville, the daughter of the late John and Marie Colapietro. She was married for 57 years to her late husband, George Ossio, who passed away in Dec.2011.

Besides her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by her brother, Venturas Colapietro; sister, Josephine Maggi; and her godchild, Vivian Maggi Haver.

Norma is lovingly remembered as a beautiful daughter, loving wife, outstanding mother, grandmother, and friend.

Norma is survived by her three children, Mary Ann (Mark) Whiteleather, George John Ossio, and Patti Ann (Tom) Ruggieri; and three grandchildren, Michele Whiteleather and Rachel and Nico Ruggieri.

Her family was a joy and love in her life. We will miss the special times we spent together, especially around the table enjoying her delicious meals. We will cherish the love and genuine spirit she shared with us every day. Memories of our beautiful mother will live forever in our hearts.

Norma was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. During her lifetime, she held numerous jobs and developed many lasting friendships as a result.

She took great pride in being a homemaker. She had a natural talent for baking. She made the “best” cookies in town and shared her famous cookies with her family and many of her Steubenville friends.

As a faithful servant of God, she began and ended each day in prayer. One of her favorite daily rituals was reciting the Rosary with Mother Angelica on EWTN.

Norma was a dedicated member of former St. Anthony of Padua Parish of Steubenville, where she was an active steward who ministered for many years to the St. Anthony Catholic Women’s Club. She was also a member of Holy Family Church.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to our angel, Lorraine Wilson, and Mom’s many beautiful friends at Heritage Village. We appreciate the love, friendship, and compassion you shared with our mother.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Holy Family Church, where mass will begin at noon. Msgr. Gerald Calovini will celebrate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 2608 Hollywood Blvd., Steubenville, OH, 43952. Offer condolences at mostifuneralhome.com.
