Robert Gentile

Robert Anthony Gentile, born April 24, 1939, died in Las Vegas, April 7, 2018.

Robert was born and raised in Steubenville, OH. He attended Steubenville Big Red High School and was a steel mill worker for many years.

He married Joan Constantine May 9, 1964, and they had three children, Denise, Lisa, and Paul.

In 1975, the family relocated to Las Vegas to start a new life. Robert reinvented himself at the age of 36. He went to college and obtained a B.S. in nursing from UNLV in the late 1970s.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Matilda and Luigi; his brother, Pasquale (“Patsy”); his sister, Joanne LeMieux; and his son, Paul.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen (“Joan”) nee Constantine; his daughters, Denise and Lisa of Las Vegas; his siblings, Yolanda Thomas (“Yollie”), Edward (Susie), Louis (Carmella) of Steubenville, OH, and Mafalda Canella (“Fee”) of Las Vegas; his brothers-in-law, Wayne LeMieux of Albuquerque and Richard Rock (Amy); sister-in-law, Paula Anzuini of Columbus, OH; his many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his grandson, Niccolo.

Since approximately 2015, Robert suffered from a rare condition called Primary Progressive Aphasia. Due to this illness, on April 7, 2018, he was taken from us unexpectedly and far too soon. He is dearly loved and will be sorely missed by his loved ones and friends.
