Aventino J. “Teno” “Tony” Oliveto, 70, of Follansbee, WV, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, after a brief illness.
Born on November 26, 1947, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late James and Elvira (Cocco) Oliveto.
He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1965 and went on to serve in Army in Korea. He retired from Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked in the band ware room for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was an avid sports enthusiast.
Teno is survived by his devoted brother, James (Ruth) Oliveto of Wheeling, WV; and will be sadly missed by his seat mates at Mountaineer field along with his Virginia Avenue neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9 from 3-8 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St. in Follansbee, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 1 p.m.. at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 1017 Jefferson St. in Follansbee, WV, with the Rev. Fr. Tom Magary as celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV.
