Frederick Bensie

Frederick A. “Bud” Bensie, 73, of Rush Run died Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his home.

He is the son of the late William and Hazel Wilburn Bensie. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Betty Fabry and Virginia Ellis; two brothers, William Bensie and Charles Bensie.

Bud was retired from the Laborers Local 809, where he was the business manager for 28 years. He was also a member of F&AM Lodge 45, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, Indian Club of Tiltonsville and was a 55 year member of the Laborers Local 809. Also served as Sergeant-at-Arms, Executive Board, President and Delegate to District Council at Laborers Local 809.

Surviving are his wife, Rhea Bensie; two sons, Ted (Amanda) Powell of Rayland and Clint (Sonya) Powell of Rayland; two daughters, Paula (Robert Flesher) Haught of Bridgeport, and Molly (Greg Sleith) Shipe of Rayland; one brother, Thomas (Mary) Bensie of Smithfield; two sisters, Grace Perri of Brilliant, and Shirley Brown of Rush Run; grandchildren, Brittany Haught, Chase Mayle, Ethan Powell, Abby Powell and Paige Powell.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. There will be a Masonic service 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, Pastor Roger Wayne will officiate. Following the funeral service on Wednesday there will be luncheon at the Indian Club in Tiltonsville.
